2015-2016 Korean-American Scientist and Engineers Association (KSEA) South-Atlantic Regional Conference will be held at North Carolina State University (NCSU) on March 18-19, 2016. The aim of the regional conference is to support interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scientific networking among Korean-American scientists and engineers in North Carolina and neighboring regions representing South-Atlantic region, to assist and encourage young Korean-American scientists and engineers (students and post-docs) through awards program for research presentation, to connect young generation of Korean-American scientists to experienced professionals and mentors, and to enhance cooperative efforts in science and technology between North Carolina and Korea. This two-day keynote forum with distinguished speakers and tour program will bring insights from different disciplines.

Poster Submission: You are invited to submit a poster at the following link:  . To submit a poster, you must select one of the following two topic areas: (1) Bio & Basic Science and (2) Engineering. Submissions must be received on or before March 14, 2016.

Outstanding Poster Award: The KSEA-NC Chapter and RTP B&B will award six (6) Outstanding Poster Awards to recognize poster presentations characterized by excellence in research, clarity in presentation, and personal knowledge in a discussion with the audience at the conference. The winners of the poster award will be selected by the audience. There will be monetary awards for the two (2) first (1 for bio & basic science and 1 for engineering) and four (4) second place (2 for bio & basic science and 2 for engineering) poster winners in the amounts of $100 and $50, respectively.

 As in past years we will come together for a Writing Workshop, which is designed to give student scientists and engineers a clear overview of the basic elements common to a dissertation/thesis writing in various disciplines. The workshop also includes a “PANEL DISCUSSION” session, in which a group of professors hold an open discussion with the audience who come with questions (refer to the workshop schedule below).

지난 2010년에 GlaxoSmithKline(GSK)에서 처음으로 열렸던 동남부 지역 한인 과학자 대회가 벌써 5년째를 맞이하고 있습니다. 금년에도 KSEA NC Chapter와 RTP B&B가 공동으로11월 21-22 (금&토)일 양일에 걸쳐서 여러분들을 모시고 2014년 동남부 지역 한인 과학자 대회를 인문 사회과학자를 포함하여 개최하고자 합니다.

금년에는 “Interdisciplinary Approach for Research & Development” 라는 주제로 자연과학자는 물론 인문 사회과학 분야에 종사하시는 여러분들도 포함하여, 여러 학문 간의 공동/협력 연구 및 활발한 교류가 절실히 요구되는 최근의 연구 방향 및 고용 시장의 추세를 반영하고자 합니다.

부디 많은 분들이 참석하시어 유익한 정보도 교환하시고 한인 전문가들과의 교류의 시간을 통하여 network을 형성하는 자리가 되기를 기대합니다.
