The 2026 National Math and Science Competition (NMSC) will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM (EDT) as outlined below.
Please note that the Physics exam will unfortunately not be offered by the NC Chapter this year, and only the Math competition will be administered.
In particular, the NC Chapter Award Ceremony will take place immediately after the exam. We would greatly appreciate it if parents who attend the competition could also join the award ceremony following the exam. Thank you for your support.

We did it!!!!
We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 2024 National Math and Science Competition (NMSC) at our North Carolina Chapter.
This year’s event was made possible through the tremendous support of our members, volunteers, and preparation teams.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all the students and parents who participated. Your involvement was essential to our success.
Special thanks to Dr. Hwanhee Hong, who has dedicated five years to serving as the NMSC Director for the NC Chapter. This year marked her final term in this role, and her commitment has been pivotal in orchestrating this event. Dr. Hong’s leadership has not only contributed to the success of the competition but also significantly shaped its direction. We are profoundly grateful for her service and will greatly miss her guidance.
This year, we had a record participation with 135 students registering for the event, making it the second-largest turnout nationwide in 2024.
Of these, 89 students completed the exam. The competition took place on April 6, followed by the chapter award ceremony on April 13.
